Anyone else out there reading romance?

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I read a lot of romance so I thought I would start a section for anyone interested in talking about romance novels.

I am reading a lot of adult contemporary, mostly slow burn romance. I am working my way through all the Marianna Zapata books. Just finished Wait For it. It was pretty cute and had some characters mentioned in previous books, so I was glad to have read her books in order. It could have been a stand alone and still been good, but it was fun knowing who these characters were and their back stories from previous books.

Lately I have been thinking I will expend my horizons to fantasy romance. I have not read any historical romance but am thinking of trying one maybe next month.

I don't read a lot of contemporary romance. If I do, it would be rom com like Confessions of a Shopaholic. Most of the romantic books I've read fall into a genre, like historical fiction or fantasy.

I am planning to try and catch up with @Jolien Reads and start a court of thorns and roses next month. I am pretty sure that one is fantasy. Have you read The Hating Game? That was a super cute rom com. I also read Fix her up, Love her or Lose Her, and Rules of Engagement. They were all quick rom coms that I thought were pretty cute. And this month I read the Abby Jimenez books too, The Friend Zone, The Happily Ever After Playlist, and LIfe's Too Short. They were good rom coms too. They all make for good "pallet cleansers" between some of the grim dark we have been reading.

I've actually heard a lot of good things about the hating game. Just put it on hold from the library. I might consider reading ACOTAR with you. I've been a little hesitant about that series because I didn't really like Throne of Glass by that author.
