My brother is coming over for a surprise visit in a couple of hours with his family. After that we have the Queen of Fire discussion ofcourse!

Tomorrow I'll try to film 2 videos in the morning and edit one of those to go up in the evening. In the afternoon we're going to some friends to watch the race (F1) and have the last bbq of the year.

Very busy lately (not much chance to post). Playing Disco Elysium, which is a tour de force of games development. Amazingly written and designed. I'd love to know more about the devs and designers - i suspect they're geniuses.

Had 2 online sessions with Scuba instructor. Very proud of Fin (my son, not the foot-based propulsion system).

Finished watching White Lotus series - 68%, with some excellent characters.

Mega food shop.

Installed under-unit lighting in the kitchen.

Didn't mow the lawn...

Trying to tack down intermitted electrical fault that trips the RCD's for the whole house every few days.

Cooked a half-decent chinese and an amazing lasagne (modesty was never my strong suit).

Electric Mowers still exist?

I suppose they are actually the future. haha  Here I am burning down the environment while I mow the lawn.

Yeah.  Cords always seemed like a dangerous component to a lawn mower.

Been using them for 40 years without incident. I suspect the problem might be with the operator... 😉

I reckon size might be an issue. I suspect lawns in the UK are typically smaller than the US. It's quite difficult to justify the cost and maintenance of a petrol mower, when ones lawn is 20 ft x 20 ft. Battery mowers are just too new to be part of the conversation yet.

20% of my lawn.  I don't have a better pic for some reason.

That's bigger than my street and all the houses on it.

Do you think everyone lives on properties like that? It would explain why you cannot understand the practicalities of electric lawnmowers.

The average property size in England is 729 sq ft.

In Idaho it's almost 2,000 sq ft.

At no point in my life have I used or seen someone using an electric lawnmower, so I just never considered it.  No wonder everyone hates Americans!

Whereas I completely understood that some people have large lawns and might prefer non electric lawnmowers.

I have had an electric (corded) mower for about 8 years now switch soon after they started putting ethanol in most of the gas around here.  Got tired of having to rebuild the carb every year due to the sugar.  My yard is not the size of Jag, say 75x40 front and the back 75x60.  Just bought a new one and got another corded one.  My son said to save the money and not worry about getting a battery powered one.  Figured get the one he wanted since he is the one using it.😝  Child labor FTW.

Pas you don't have Fin cutting yours?

Lol. It's a great idea, and if he would, I'd be all over it. He's been a bit young to need the money from chores, but that is changing fast.

On a slight tangent, it's becoming quite popular here to let your lawn go to meadow... For all the wildlife-n-shit. I'd consider it in a flash, but with 2 dogs now, finding all that stealth poop would be tough in a meadow.

I also considered one of those robot mowers.
